This holiday season prepare to be transported on a magical journey with Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. From the heroic battle against the Mouse King, travel through the Land of the Snowflakes and on to the Kingdom of the Sweets. There you will meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and be entertained by the wonders of the Land of Enchantment. Choreographed by Artistic Director Abra Rudisill with gorgeous costumes and beautiful sets - all to the classic Tchaikovsky score - this is a production sure to bring out the child in all of us. Whether this is your first time seeing a Nutcracker production or it is a time honored holiday tradition, make ACB's 13th Annual Nutcracker part of your holiday festivities.

Families are welcome to these performances, but everyone will need a ticket. Babies on laps are not permitted. Please use your best judgement as to whether your child can sit quietly through a 2 hour performance. Thank you.

Audition Information for Sep. 22 & 23, 2018

Auditions for the 2018 Nutcracker will be held at the Alameda Ballet Academy studio
1402 Park Street, Alameda on Sep. 22 & 23, 2018.

A completed audition form is required for each dancer (NOTE: this is the CORRECT audition form), which can be downloaded here. Please print and complete both pages of the audition registration form before you arrive. Also, be sure to attach a photo of the dancer to the form in the space provided.

Please arrive 30 minutes before the audition time so that the dancer has time to settle in, have measurements taken and get ready!

Also, if you are new to our Nutcracker production this year, or would like to refresh yourself on what to expect, please download our "What to Expect at the Nutcracker Auditions" document.

The auditions are closed to the public, so we will have a check-in/check-out table where dancers will be signed in and out by parents or caregivers. The back door will be closed, so please enter on Park Street. The studio will be quite crowded, so please do not linger on the stairs or any lobby areas.

Dancers should wear what they wear in ballet class. Girls: Leotard, Tights & Ballet Shoes, with hair securely pulled back in a bun. Pre-Ballet may wear hair in a ponytail. Boys: T-Shirt, Tights/Leggings and Ballet Shoes. Thank you!

ACB's The Nutcracker

"Thanks for being that spark! We've enjoyed participating in the Nutcracker every year! It's a great production and fulfills much more than you can ever imagine. You provide a great opportunity for our children to learn the art of ballet and to take with them the lessons to apply to every day life."
